Teresa Ann (Hiatt) Via, age 68, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at her home.
She was born on October 26, 1957, to the late Duane and Dorothy (Foreman) Hiatt.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Hiatt; and her nephew, Noah Hill.
Teresa is survived by her siblings, Cheryl (Tom) Purdy of Palestine, and Sonya (Scott) Hill of Hollansburg; her sister-in-law, April Hiatt; her nieces and nephews, Mindi (Josh) Ashworth, Michelle (Amy) Waters, Casey (Benjamin) Rife, Kelly (Justin) Everhart, Joshua (TJ) Hiatt, Jason Hiatt, Amy (Jarred) Lewis, and Pheobe Hill; numerous great nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Curtis.
Teresa graduated from Tri-Village High School in 1976. She was a devoted member of Hollansburg Christian Church, where she spent many Sundays faithfully teaching Sunday School. Teresa truly had a servant’s heart. She loved helping others and would do anything to bring a smile to someone’s face.
A longtime resident of Treaty Manor in Greenville, Teresa was known as the “mother hen” to many. Whenever someone new moved in, she made sure they were welcomed with their first meal. She regularly checked in on her neighbors and even assisted them during fire alarms, ensuring everyone was safe.
Teresa also had a wonderfully crafty spirit. She loved sewing and quilting, creating countless blankets, table runners, and pillows, treasured gifts she generously shared with family and friends. Whether it was your birthday or you were feeling under the weather, you could almost always count on receiving a thoughtful card from Teresa, just to let you know she was thinking of you.
Teresa cherished time spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Hollansburg Christian Church, with Pastor Jeorgene Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Teresa’s family on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM at the church.
