She was born on August 31, 1944, in Adams County, Ohio, to the late Owen and Myrl (Jones) McGowan.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Setser; her daughter, Kimberly Hutchinson; her sisters, Hazel (Kenneth) Compton, Alma (Leroy) Bingham, and Helen (Bud) Dale; and her brother-in-law, Steven Blaine.
Thelma is survived by her sister, Dottie Blaine of New Paris; her son-in-law, Paul Hutchinson; her grandchildren, Kierah, Layne, Cody, and Joseph; her great grandson, Kaden; and numerous nieces and nephews, especially Matthew and Roger.
Thelma was a 1962 graduate of Spring Valley High School. She worked for General Motors in Moraine, Ohio for many years until she retired. In her younger years, Thelma was a Sharky Model. Her favorite color was red. Thelma loved being outdoors and tending to her garden and yard. She took great pride in keeping her house looking like a Better Homes and Garden magazine house. Thelma also enjoyed going shopping and was even known for her love of QVC; and rescuing dogs with her sister.
The family would like to invite close family and friends to a celebration of Thelma's life at her home, 5320 Kimberly Court, New Paris, Ohio 45347, from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM on April 27, 2024.
