Wilma Lee "Boots" A. Davidson

Wilma Lee “Boots" A. (Goubeaux) Davidson, age 94, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 surrounded by her family. Boots was born on April 9, 1931 to the late Ben and Rosalie (Smith) Goubeaux.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Duane "Buster" Davidson, whom she married on January 31, 1953. Boots and Buster had many travels and adventures, and those memories were cherished and shared by Boots after Buster's death in 2014. Boots and Buster traveled a lot throughout their lives, making it to most of the states, but their favorite trips were to Las Vegas and they would share many stories about the fun and success they had there.

Boots worked at the Buckeye and the NCR before working at Corning, a job she truly loved because of the many friends she made. After retirement, she spent a lot of time volunteering at East School where she was known as "Grandma Boots" to many students and staff. She was also well known for her presence in her daughter's flower shops over the years. Boots was a long time member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.

Boots will always be remembered for her sweet personality, generosity, kindness and willingness to help anyone she could. She had many dear friends whom she enjoyed spending time with over the years.

In addition to her husband Buster, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Davidson-Smith; all of her siblings: Pat Mullenix, Harold Goubeaux, Betty Cohee, June Bailey, Jerry Goubeaux, and Beverly Sturgill; her special sister-in-law MaryEllen Goubeaux; and several dear friends.

Boots loved her family very much and that love grew with each generation. She is survived by her sons Dan (Stephanie) and Dave (Sherry) Davidson both of Greenville; son-in-law Tom (Lisa) Smith of New Madison; grandchildren Jerimey Davidson, Angie (Justin) Marshall, Chad Davidson, Kristen (Dan) Sprunger, and Amber (Matt) Ayette; her beloved great grandchildren Tevin and Ally Marshall, Parker and Cooper Sprunger, Shelby and Chloe Ayette; many nieces and nephews, and very dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with burial to follow at Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to Mass from 9:30-10:30 AM at Tribute Funeral Home, Greenville campus.

Memorial contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice or St. Mary's Catholic School.
